The Colorado State Capital Hall of Presidential Portraits briefly displayed a portrait of Vladimir Putin in the spot where President Donald Trump‘s portrait was supposed to go. State Senator Steve Fenberg noticed the portrait on Thursday and snapped a photo before a tour guide took the portrait prank down. The spot designated for 45’s portrait now stands empty because according to Denver’s News 9, the Colorado Citizens for Culture is hard up for donations in order to fund the Trump portrait for the space. “The group has received $0 of the $10,000 needed for the portrait, says Jay Seller, who runs Colorado Citizens for Culture,” News 9 reports. The report also added: “They typically collect the money within about four months, according to Seller Continue reading "Colorado State Capitol Hall of Presidential Portraits Briefly Displayed Putin in Trump’s Place"

The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee said on Sunday that the President of the United States acts like someone who has been compromised by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Speaking on ABC News This Week, Rep. Adam Schiff had this to say when asked by George Stephanopoulos if he believes Trump is compromised by Putin: “Well, I certainly think he is acting like someone who is compromised and it very well may be that he is compromised, or that he believes that he is compromised, that the Russians have information on him.” He then noted that “we were not permitted to look into one of the allegations that is most serious to me, and that is ‘were the Russians laundering money through the Trump organization?’ The Republicans wouldn’t allow us to go near that, and I hope Bob Mueller is investigating it because again if that is Continue reading "Rep. Matt Schlapp: Trump’s Policies on Russia Are ‘Two or Three Times Tougher’ Than Anything Under Obama

American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp defended President Donald Trump after his panned performance at the Helsinki Summit alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin. Schlapp began by calling it “silly” for Trump’s critics to urge the president “not to deal” with the leader of Russia. “The idea that Trump is somehow ‘soft’ on Putin just because when they’re in each other’s company, he tries very hard to be- and in some cases too hard the other day, to be hospitable. But the policies are  what matter,” Schlapp told The Ingraham Angle guest host Jason Chaffetz.  “And the policy coming out of the Trump Administration, as you pointed out, is two or three times tougher than anything we saw in Obama. If you look at the export controls, if you look at the sanctions, if you look at the the number of people being kicked out of the country, if you look Continue reading "Matt Schlapp: Trump’s Policies on Russia Are ‘Two or Three Times Tougher’ Than Anything Under Obama"

On Thursday night, Stephen Colbert expressed utter shock when he heard that President Donald Trump had invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the White House. Earlier in the day, while attacking the media as the “real enemy of the people,” Trump revealed that a second meeting with Putin was in the works. Such news caused Colbert to literally spit out the water in his mouth. “Second meeting?!? Second meeting- because the first one went so well!” Colbert exclaimed. But after dismissing Trump’s vague tweet, he then saw the one made by Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Continue reading "Colbert Holds an Intervention For Trump: Instead of ‘Sucking Up’ to Putin, Find a Safer Hobby Like ‘Heroin’"

“It is our motion that the interpreter be subpoenaed to come and testify in closed session before our committee,” said Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) this morning in making a motion to the House Intel Committee, along with Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) to subpoena the interpreter who was essentially the only American witness to the private meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday. That motion was voted down, as Schiff noted on Twitter.

On Tuesday night, former CIA Director Leon Panetta weighed in on President Donald Trump‘s remarks he made at the Helsinki summit alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin. Panetta began by expressing skepticism of Trump’s clarification that he “misspoke” at his press conference where he appeared to take Putin’s word over the US intel agencies on whether Russia meddled in the 2016 election, saying it was “pretty clear” that Trump was saying what he thought in Helsinki and that the “damage has been done” that he “hasn’t repaired the damage” despite his correction. He told MSNBC anchor Brian Williams that he thought Trump’s one-on-one meeting with Putin, our “primary adversary,” sets a “terrible precedent” for the presidency and believed the president is “going to pay for it” down the road. “This is about the truth. And presidents who underestimate the American people and think that they can tell them whatever they Continue reading "Fmr CIA Director Panetta: The Way Trump Behaves, It’s a ‘Clear Signal That The Russians Have Something On Him’"

MSNBC Contributor: Trump’s Performance Will ‘Live in Infamy’ as Much as Pearl Harbor or Kristallnacht

On Monday night, MSNBC contributor and former Watergate prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks blasted President Donald Trump for his performance at the Helsinki summit alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin. Filling in for Chris Hayes, Ali Velshi read an excerpt from a Washington Post report about how the president was “growling” according to one White House official in reaction to Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s indictment of 12 Russian intel officials just days before the highly anticipated summit and that he was “more excited” to sit down with Putin than he was with NATO allies, something Velshi thought was “amazing.” “At some point, this has a complexity that’s even richer than the one you were involved in with the watergate investigation in that nobody thought that Richard Nixon was working on behalf of an enemy of the United States,” Velshi said to Wine-Banks. “How do you even make sense of this? Stephen Colbert slammed President Donald Trump for his joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Colbert shared several reactions of the press conference from the media and how their “reviews” are the worst he’s seen since the Titanic- not the movie, the actual Titanic. He accused the president of “throwing the intelligence community under the bus” and throwing it “in reverse and turned them into road burger.” The Late Show host then blasted the president for believing in Putin’s “very strong” denial that his country meddled in the 2016 election. “‘Boo all you want, but he’s extremely strong and powerful,'” Colbert impersonated Trump. “He does not skip leg day and I know because right now, I’m smooching  his glutes.” Colbert told his audience he’s not “used to the president telling the truth” in reference to Putin’s admission that he did want Trump to win the election. He Continue reading "Colbert: Putin’s World Cup Gift Was Nice, But He ‘Still Has a Set of Trump’s Balls’"

The Daily Show came back Monday night, just in time to react to the Helsinki summit between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trevor Noah began by declaring it a “very good day” for Putin and showing various political pundits trashing Trump’s performance at their joint press conference, one calling it the “most embarrassing performance” on the world stage by an American president. “Damn, the ‘most embarrassing performance’ by an American president. Do you know how hard it is to achieve that?” Noah asked. “George H.W. Bush once threw up on the Japanese prime minister. And Trump is now on top!” The Daily Show host explained that no one knew what the summit was going to focus on but pointed to last week’s indictments from Special Counsel Robert Mueller of 12 Russian intel officers and that the news was so big that it “sent Cardi Continue reading "Trevor Noah Hits ‘KFC Agent’ Trump: He Put His Foot Down ‘Right on America’s D*ck’"

The New York Daily News is publishing a brutal cover depicting the Helsinki summit between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. On Monday, Trump sparked a strong reaction to at their joint press conference where he refused to acknowledge the findings from US intel agencies that the Russian government interfered in the 2016 election. Well, ahead of its printing, the NY Daily News unveiled it’s cover. And it’s quite something. “@realdonaldtrump derides reports with which he disagrees as ‘fake news,’ then buys the Russian narrative hook, line, sinker, pole, and boat,” the NYDN tweeted. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin took questions from reporters in Russia ahead of their one-on-meeting today. The presser lasted only a short time, with Putin taking the first question, and Trump getting the final word. Trump said to reporters that the two leaders would be talking about China and nuclear weapons, and congratulated Putin on the successful World Cup. He also said that the United States and Russia have “frankly not been getting along too well for the last number of years,” but stressed that he thinks that getting along is a “good thing.” Unlike at breakfast last week during the NATO conference, President Trump brought up no contentious issues or any matters which might upset Vladimir Putin. Ex-CIA Director Brennan Walks Back Claim That Russia ‘May Have Things’ On Trump: ‘I Don’t Know’

Former CIA Director John Brennan is backpedaling remarks he made last month regarding President Trump‘s seemingly cozy relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Brennan criticized the president for his congratulatory call to Putin after his reelection during an appearance on Morning Joe, claiming Trump has “something to fear” and believed Trump treats his Russian counterpart so gently. When asked specifically if he thought Russia “had something” on the president, Brennan responded by saying they “may have things” on him and that “perhaps” it was something personal. Well now, he’s walking it back a bit. Appearing on The 11th Hour, Brennan was asked by Brian Williams if he still believed what he said. “What I was doing was responding to a question about whether the Russians might have something on Mr. Trump and I think I said ‘it’s possible, perhaps.’ I don’t know,” Brennan responded. “But I Continue reading "Ex-CIA Director Brennan Walks Back Claim That Russia ‘May Have Things’ On Trump: ‘I Don’t Know’"

President Donald Trump slammed the FBI, pushed back on the investigation into his campaign’s Russia ties and recalled his “great” phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a dizzying Q&A with reporters Friday morning. The president was en route to the FBI Academy to participate in a graduation ceremony when he took questions from reporters on the White House lawn. “It’s a shame what’s happened with the FBI. But, we’re going to rebuild the FBI. It’ll be bigger and better than ever. But it is very sad, when you look at those documents, and how they’ve done that is really, really disgraceful. And you have a lot of very angry people that are seeing it. It’s a very sad thing to watch, I will tell you that.” “Everybody, not me, everybody, the level of anger with what they’ve been witnessing with respect to the FBI, it’s very sad,” Continue reading "WATCH: Trump Slams FBI, Talks of ‘Great’ Call With Putin En Route to FBI Ceremony"

FBI Reportedly Investigating Payments Sent to Russian Embassy ‘to Finance Election Campaign of 2016’

The FBI is investigating a series of monetary transactions between the Russian foreign ministry and its embassy in Washington D.C., with the funds passing through a Kremlin-backed bank, according to a new report from Buzzfeed. Federal authorities started looking into the matter when they became aware of one of these wire transfers, valued at $30,000, which had landed in the Russian embassy’s Citibank account, per Buzzfeed. The transaction may have fallen under the radar, if not for the memo that was attached, which read that the money was intended “to finance election campaign of 2016.” Yeah. You read that right. This transaction practically begged to be noticed by the FBI with a memo like that. The Russian foreign ministry must have thought “for meddling on behalf of our leader, Vladimir Putin” was a bit too conspicuous. Once the FBI started digging, they found dozens of similar transactions, 60 Continue reading "FBI Reportedly Investigating Payments Sent to Russian Embassy ‘to Finance Election Campaign of 2016’"

Morning Joe  Baffled by Trump ‘Cozying Up to Putin and Making Lovey-Dovey Eyes’

After President Donald Trump appeared to get friendly with Vladimir Putin during his trip to Asia — all while Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s election meddling rages on and individuals close to Trump’s campaign are investigated over foreign-ties — Morning Joe  responded consternation. Trump spent time with Putin at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vietnam last week, which led him to suggest he believes Putin instead of US intelligence agencies on the issue of Kremlin election interference — though he would later backtrack on that suggestion. John Heilemann, who was filling in for regular Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough, explained his confusion by Trump’s rekindled friendship with Putin:
“If Donald Trump is under investigation and his administration and people around him, the Russia collusion and whole Mueller investigation, right… In simple terms the president would think it’s probably not in my best self interest to be Continue reading "Morning Joe  Baffled by Trump ‘Cozying Up to Putin and Making Lovey-Dovey Eyes’"

Colbert on Trump-Putin Meeting: ‘If Your Collusion Lasts Longer Than an Hour, Please Consult the FBI’

On Wednesday night, Stephen Colbert slammed President Trump for having an undisclosed second meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 Summit earlier this month. “Really?” Colbert asked. “How stupid can you be? You’re in the middle of what could be the worst scandal in U.S. history. People think you colluded with the president of a hostile foreign power, then you go out of your way to meet with him again and you don’t tell anybody? That’s like if O.J. [Simpson] does get out on parole and immediately goes glove shopping.” The Late Show host pointed out that the meeting lasted as long as an hour. “Gentlemen, if your collusion lasts longer than an hour, please consult the FBI,” he quipped. Colbert told his audience that he “wants to believe” President Trump when he dismisses this as “fake news,” but says it’s hard Continue reading "Colbert on Trump-Putin Meeting: ‘If Your Collusion Lasts Longer Than an Hour, Please Consult the FBI’"

On Wednesday night, Sean Hannity ripped the “Destroy Trump Media” over their reporting on the alleged “secret” second meeting President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin had at the G20 Summit. He dismissed the story as “fake news” and claimed that the media created the “fake scandal” and “spread it like wildfire.” The Fox News host showed clips from CNN’s Anderson Cooper, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, and Lawrence O’Donnell who “went into full-freakout conspiracy mode.” “This is just beyond pathetic!” he reacted. He then showed a photo of the supposed meeting, which was actually a dinner that all the world leaders (and the press) present at the G20 Summit attended and pointed out that Trump was sitting next to the Japanese Prime Minister’s wife and Putin was sitting next to First Lady Melania Trump. “According to the White House, at some point during Continue reading "Hannity Slams ‘Officially Psychotic’ Media Over Trump-Putin Meeting: They ‘Need to Be Committed!’"
