Lindsey Graham Defends Trump Attack on CNN… on CNN: GOP Doesn’t ‘Trust’ You

Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina defended Donald Trump after CNN host Wolf Blitzer pushed the lawmaker over a recent tweet in which the president attacked the network’s reporting as “fake news” — which inspired the Libyan government to decry a report on slavery. The presidential tweet in question specifically attacked CNN International — which is the network’s overseas division — as Trump suggested they are dishonest and represent the US “poorly” on a global stage. This statement led Blitzer to play the never-ending media game of vigorously grilling Republican lawmakers on their opinions about Trump’s Twitter account. Though, this time the issue was more serious, as Libyan authorities have used the president’s attack on CNN International to claim that an article by the outlet on the slave trade in the North African country is false. Rather than dodging — as House Speaker Paul Ryan is notorious for doing — Continue reading "Lindsey Graham Defends Trump Attack on CNN… on CNN: GOP Doesn’t ‘Trust’ You"

Trump Promotes Antisemitic, Conspiracy Website: I ‘Wish the Fake News Would Report’ Like This

President Donald Trump shared an article about the website magapill.com showcasing his “accomplishment list” — though, aside from including a faulty link, the Twitter account associated with the site frequently posted content that was antisemitic or conspiratorial in nature. “Wow, even I didn’t realize we did so much. Wish the Fake News would report! Thank you,” tweeted the president — promoting an article from a site that believes Seth Rich was “murdered” by Hillary Clinton and banking is corrupted by “certain bloodlines.” The front page of the website is titled “President Donald Trump’s Accomplishment List.” This page touts articles — in Continue reading "Trump Promotes Antisemitic, Conspiracy Website: I ‘Wish the Fake News Would Report’ Like This"

Trump Claims Fox News is ‘Much More Important’ Than ‘Fake News’ CNN

In a tweet, President Donald Trump heaped praise onto the only cable news network that offers his administration consistently fawning coverage, suggesting Fox News is “MUCH more important” than rival CNN — both in the US and internationally. “Fox News is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly. The outside world does not see the truth from them!” Tweeted Trump on Saturday night. The Continue reading "Trump Claims Fox News is ‘Much More Important’ Than ‘Fake News’ CNN"

Trump Falsely Claims Two-Day Late JFK Files Release Was ‘Long Ahead of Schedule’

President Donald Trump lied for seemingly no reason on Twitter today, claiming the John F. Kennedy files were released “long ahead of schedule” when they were actually released two days late. According to the National Archives, the scheduled release date of all the JFK data was supposed to be October 26. However, the files were not released in their entirety until October 28 — of course, this fact did not stop Trump from taking credit for getting the information out early. “JFK Files are released, long ahead of schedule!” Tweeted Trump on Sunday night, just prior to the JFK files being released behind schedule. The fact-checking service PoltiFact reports that 59 percent of everything noteworthy Trump says is either mostly false, false, or pants on fire false — which is the site’s Continue reading "Trump Falsely Claims Two-Day Late JFK Files Release Was ‘Long Ahead of Schedule’"

Trump Admits His Tweet Attacking Michael Moore is ‘Not At All Presidential’

President Donald Trump had his usual weekend Twitter rant on Saturday, in which he admitted his an online crusade against liberal filmmaker Michael Moore is “not at all presidential.” Of course, the question of “is Trump presidential” and “when will Trump start acting presidential?” have been on-going since inauguration day — particularly in regards to his Twitter habits. But this time around, he finally called his actions unpresidential before a CNN pundit or “principled” GOP lawmaker could. “While not at all presidential I must point out that the Sloppy Michael Moore Show on Broadway was a TOTAL BOMB and was forced to close. Sad!” Tweeted the president Saturday night — bringing back his signature “Sad!” closer.
