Michael Moore: ‘This Is Not the Time for the Democrats to Gloat’

Michael Moore said on MSNBC tonight that “this is not the time for the Democrats to gloat or throw some kind of party.” He told Chris Hayes that right now Democrats and the resistance need to double down, because when Trump talks about Obamacare imploding, it means he will “actively make sure that it happens.” Moore argued that GOP leadership made the bill “meaner” to appease conservatives, and he advised Democrats to push for a “real fix” to America’s health care system so that the working poor of America don’t suffer. Anderson Cooper Calls Out Trump for Claiming ‘I Never Said Repeal It and Replace It Within 64 Days’

Earlier today at the White House, President Trump said of his promise to repeal and replace Obamacare, “I never said repeal it and replace it within 64 days. I have a long time.” Anderson Cooper said tonight that’s absolutely not true, showing a montage of the president on the campaign trail saying he wanted to “immediately” repeal and replace Obamacare. CNN’s Bolduan: Can Republicans Really ‘Walk Away From Health Care’ and Move On?

CNN’s Kate Bolduan asked tonight if Republicans are really just going to “walk away from health care… and move onto tax reform.” President Trump said that tax reform is the next big agenda item he wants to get done, and Bolduan said that’s no easier than health care. Doug Heye argued that right now, the GOP needs to “lick their wounds, walk it off, and live to fight another day.” For as he pointed out, it wasn’t the Democrats that led to the health care bill being pulled, it was Republican infighting. Bolduan asked if the health care defeat will make tax reform easier or harder. Jeff Lord said it might be a little harder, but he went on to say Continue reading "CNN’s Bolduan: Can Republicans Really ‘Walk Away From Health Care’ and Move On?"

Fox’s Bob Beckel: ‘Is Trump Really Gonna Try to Lay This on the Democrats?’

Shortly after the House floor vote was pulled on the GOP’s American Health Care Act Friday afternoon, Fox News’s Bob Beckel simply couldn’t believe that President Donald Trump tried to blame democrats for its failure. Speaking with Fox News anchor Bret Baier on The Five Friday, Beckel was incredulous. “Is he really gonna try to lay this on the democrats?” he said. Beckel referenced the vote on President Barack Obama‘s Affordable Care Act, which failed to receive any Republican support. “I guess history doesn’t stick with this guy very well, because we didn’t get a single republican vote on Obamacare,” Baier lamented the lack of bipartisanship in both instances. “I think one of the things you could say definitively is that’s not the best way to run a government, is to have no votes from the other side,” Baier said. Schumer Responds to Trump Blaming Democrats: ‘They Never Reached Out to Us’

Senator Chuck Schumer reacted on CNN earlier tonight to President Trump saying that Democrats like him and Nancy Pelosi were the real losers today because now they “own” Obamacare. The president said once Obamacare “explodes,” Democrats will come to him to work on a fix. Schumer told Wolf Blitzer, “They never reached out to us, they never talked to us, they never said ‘How can we work together to make it better?'” He said that he’s willing to work with Trump on health care but they have to “take repeal off the table.” At one point Schumer said that Trump “proved to be incompetent” in all this. Hillary Clinton Tweets About ‘Victory For All Americans’ After Healthcare Vote Is Pulled

Former Secretary of State and Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton tweeted in celebration of the GOP failing to vote on their healthcare bill today. She was happy to see that the Affordable Care Act was saved for the time being.

Chuck Todd: ‘Where Was the Speech to America’ from Trump on Health Care?

Before the health care bill was pulled from the House floor today, Sean Spicer said that President Trump “left everything on the field” on this. Chuck Todd was a bit confused by that one this afternoon. He asked Chris Jansing, “Where was the speech to America?” Jansing talked about what Trump did behind-the-scenes on health care, but acknowledged that Trump wasn’t vociferously selling the American Health Care Act as much as other Republicans were.
