O’Reilly: The Press Is ‘Smearing’ Trump With Coverage of ICE Raids

Bill O’Reilly tonight said the press’ dishonesty may have reached a peak in coverage of the recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in “smearing” President Trump. Hundreds of people were arrested in the recent raids, which garnered a lot of media attention. DHS Secretary John Kelly released a statement today saying that 75 percent of those arrested in the raids were criminals convicted of things ranging from homicide, sexual assault, and drug trafficking. O’Reilly went through some of the stats before saying the facts have gone “largely unreported by the American press,” saying that the coverage has “reached the level of hysteria.” He said he didn’t see much coverage that mentioned criminals being targeted and said, “That’s not press bias, that’s blatant dishonesty.” He also took note of how there wasn’t this kind of outrage after raids that took place Continue reading "O’Reilly: The Press Is ‘Smearing’ Trump With Coverage of ICE Raids"

Elliott Abrams: Bannon May Be Why I Was Passed Over for State Dept. Position

Elliott Abrams, who served under both Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, was being considered for the job of Deputy Secretary of State in the Trump administration, but was passed over because, according to CNN, President Trump became aware of past criticisms Abrams had of him. It’s unclear exactly why that may have happened in this particular situation, seeing as how Rick Perry and Nikki Haley––among others––were Trump critics that ended up being chosen for his administration (as Energy Secretary and U.N. ambassador, respectively). Abrams appeared on CNN tonight to discuss the matter with Erin Burnett. He provided some insight into the meeting he had with Trump and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and said he was ready to address his past criticisms of the president. And on the subject of who in the White House might have tanked his Continue reading "Elliott Abrams: Bannon May Be Why I Was Passed Over for State Dept. Position"

Krauthammer: Trump ‘Loses Either Way’ No Matter What He Decides on Flynn

Charles Krauthammer said tonight that no matter what President Trump‘s decision is on national security advisor Michael Flynn, he “loses either way.” On Fox’s Special Report tonight, Krauthammer told Bret Baier it’s bizarre how big this has become because really it’s a “cover-up without a crime.” He didn’t think it to be that big a deal that Flynn spoke with the Russian ambassador about sanctions, but it’s the lying about it that’s the serious problem. The White House said today Trump is still evaluating the situation, and Krauthammer thinks that’s because the president still hasn’t made up his mind on what to do. If he fires Flynn, Krauthammer noted, it doesn’t reflect well on the president because he chose him in the first place. And if he keeps him on, it leaves Vice President Mike Pence hanging. Watch above, via Continue reading "Krauthammer: Trump ‘Loses Either Way’ No Matter What He Decides on Flynn"

Military Judge Calls Trump’s Campaign Rhetoric on Bowe Bergdahl ‘Disturbing’

bergdahl1 In a pretrial hearing today, the military judge presiding over the case stated that there could be public questions on the possibility of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl receiving a fair trial based on President Donald Trump’s rhetoric during the election. Defense attorneys for Bergdahl, who has been charged with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy, played video footage of Trump repeatedly telling rally crowds that Bergdahl was a traitor. Bergdahl’s lawyers are stating that his due-process rights were violated by the comments. While the judge, Col. Jeffery Nance, didn’t make an immediate ruling, he did say that the clip was “disturbing material.” He is expected to provide a written decision on the defense’s request at a later time. Prosecutors countered that Trump’s pre-election remarks were nothing but campaign rhetoric and more directed at President Barack Obama for his decision to exchange five prisoners for Bergdahl in 2014. Bergdahl Continue reading "Military Judge Calls Trump’s Campaign Rhetoric on Bowe Bergdahl ‘Disturbing’"
