Fox News host Brian Kilmeade gave voice to his audience’s anxieties when he complained out loud about “illegals” who are being “dump(ed)” in “working class” areas, resulting in schools with many “extra kids who don’t speak English.” On Wednesday morning’s edition of Fox & Friends, Kilmeade had some revealing observations to make after some clips of a former MS-13 gang member named Casey Diaz, who was a guest on Laura Ingraham‘s show. He claimed that there are “a lot of gangs” trying to enter the country in caravans. According to Trump administration data, 0.3 percent of border crossers were gang members in 2018. “By the way, it’s not just border cities, Ainsley,” Kilmeade said. “They dump these illegals in areas, and President Obama did it with those unaccompanied minors, in working class areas without telling mayors or governors.” “Next thing you know, you’re there, and your kids come home from school, and there’s 10 extra kids in the school, and they don’t speak English,” he added. “So, that’s what happens. They fan out across the country.” Kilmeade didn’t explain the difference between a “border city” and a “working class area,” but, for example, the median income in the border city of San Antonio is nearly identical to the national median income. Maybe he was talking about something else. Perhaps Kilmeade’s use of the term “illegals,” a dehumanizing term that is considered a slur by many immigrants and their allies, offers a clue to why he is anxious about “working class” kids mixing with “extra kids who don’t speak English.” Watch the clip above, via Fox News.
