Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro used her open to rip apart President Donald Trump‘s foe du jour, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, and offer the Speaker some unsolicited advice. This week, Pelosi said that Trump needed an intervention, part of an escalating battle of words between the speaker and the president. In response, Pirro spent her opening statement painting Pelosi as the crazy one and defending Trump’s comments  casting doubt on Pelosi’s mental fitness. At one point, the Fox News host said that Trump is not putting kerosene on the fire, Democrats are. She further insisted: “He does not need an intervention, Nancy, you need the intervention.” Pirro then suggested Trump was right. “I watched her and I have been watching her for a long period of time which is not the same person,” Trump says in the clip she played as evidence. “She’s lost it.” Then speaking directly to Pelosi Continue reading "Jeanine Pirro Has Some Advice for Nancy Pelosi: ‘Knock It the Hell Off’ and Follow Trump’s Lead"

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called out Politico on Saturday for a tweet labeling Sen. Bernie Sanders rich and “cheap.” On Friday, Politico tweeted out: “Bernie Sanders might still be cheap, but he’s sure not poor.” That tweet has since been deleted. In subsequent teases of the article, however, Politico tweeted out an image showing Sanders next to a money tree. That image is also featured on the article’s page. AOC said that Politico had some explaining to do. “Can ⁦@politico⁩ explain to us how photoshopping money trees next to the only Jewish candidate for president and talking about how “cheap” and rich he is *isn’t* antisemitic?” she wrote. The freshman Congresswoman Continue reading "AOC Calls Out Politico for ‘Anti-Semitic’ Tweet Labeling Bernie Sanders as ‘Rich’ and ‘Cheap’"

CNN’s S.E. Cupp slammed Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway on Saturday, saying Conway cries “sexism any time she feels slighted or cornered.” Cupp started off by saying President Donald Trump “often saves the most visual and visceral insults for females,” referring to the press conference where Trump insulted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. She then <a href="http://<a href=https://www.mediaite.com/trump/s-e-cupp-rips-kellyanne-conway-crying-sexism-is-her-go-to-move/%22>played a clip of Trump saying this about Pelosi: “I’ve been watching her for a period of time. It was all crazy, the movement, the moving of the hand and the crazy. That’s a person who has problems.” Cupp went on to note that Conway had snarked about Pelosi’s attitude towards her as a woman, claiming the Speaker treats her “as she might treat her maid or pilots or make-up artists or wardrobe consultants.” “And yet Conway stood by as Trump launched smears against Nancy Pelosi,” Cupp stressed, pointing out that Conway did nothing when Trump slammed a woman despite feeling slighted by Pelosi’s attitude towards her.

A little while later, Cupp circled back on her remarks about Conway. Speaking with CNN contributor Mary Katherine Ham, Cupp said about Conway: “I’ve noted on this show and elsewhere that crying sexism any time she feels slighted or cornered, it’s a go-to move of her.” “It’s so stupid for lack of a better word, but I’m also old enough to remember when conservatives used to hate exactly this sort of thing,” Cupp said. President Donald Trump had some thoughts about North Korea, missiles and Joe Biden. Taking to Twitter while on his Memorial Day Weekend trip to Japan, Trump wrote this: “North Korea fired off some small weapons, which disturbed some of my people, and others, but not me.” Then, he issued this bit of word salad about “Swampman” Joe Biden and Kim Jong-un: “I have confidence that Chairman Kim will keep his promise to me, & also smiled when he called Swampman Joe Bidan (sic) a low IQ individual, & worse. Perhaps that’s sending me a signal?” He later corrected the spelling of Biden’s name.

CNN host S.E. Cupp said she doesn’t believe President Donald Trump wants the job anymore, and the only thing keeping him in office is the fear of getting voted out. “Trump doesn’t want to be president anymore. I’m not sure he ever wanted it,” Cupp said in her opening monologue on Unfiltered Saturday. “The job of being president, that wasn’t ever what he was after and now that the Democrats in the House have some power and are using it, he really doesn’t want the job,” she continued on. Cupp speculated Trump actually wants to be impeached by congressional Democrats. “He sees an exit ramp. … He gets to go out the victim of a witch hunt, a conspiracy to oust an otherwise competent and successful leader,” Cupp said. “But that’s letting him off the hook too easy,” Cupp said. “He was elected to do a job and voters Continue reading "S.E. During his big rally in Vermont today, Senator Bernie Sanders brought up Iran and said he’s working with “honest conservatives” in the Senate to stop the Trump administration from starting a war. Sanders said he makes no apology for his positions on Vietnam and Iraq, before bringing up his opposition to the Saudi-led war in Yemen and his concerns about a drumbeat to war with Iran. “I am doing everything that I can,” Sanders said, “working, by the way, with some honest conservatives in the Senate, to prevent Donald Trump and John Bolton from taking us into a war in Iran.” He said he would be “much more destructive” than the Iraq war and “could lead us literally to perpetual warfare in that region.” You can watch above, via C-SPAN. The California judge did not rule on the legality of the administration’s diversion of another $3.6 billion from military construction funds, ABC News reported. “We are asking for an expedited appeal!” Trump said. U.S. District Judge Haywood Gilliam’s ruling cited the Trump administration’s attempt to circumvent Congress as reason for blocking the funds, alongside Trump’s own past statements. “Defendants’ argument that the need for the requested border Continue reading "Trump Attacks Judge Who Blocked Wall Construction: ‘Another Activist Obama-Appointed Judge’"

Bernie Sanders held a campaign rally in Vermont today and blasted President Donald Trump ,whom he referred to as one of his “least favorite subjects.” He called Trump a “pathological liar” who doesn’t care about the truth and doesn’t respect the Constitution:
“You know that we have a president who has no understanding or respect for the Constitution of the United States, and the separation of powers, and is attempting to move every single day this country into an authoritarian form of government. Think for a moment, who would have ever believed that we could have a President of the United States who considers the media in this country as an enemy of the people, who lavishes praise on despotic and anti-democratic leaders all over the world, who storms out of meetings, after berating and insulting congressional leaders, and who refuses to obey congressional subpoenas?”

Mayor Pete Buttigieg hit against President Donald Trump again this week for his past attacks on NFL player protests, like the one undertaken by former quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Buttigieg spoke with TMZ Sports in New York on Thursday. He was asked about his stance on Kaepernick’s protest against racial injustice and police brutality in America, where Kaepernick would take a knee during the national anthem. “The way I feel about it is the flag that was on my shoulder when I served represented, among other things, our right to free speech,” he said. “One of the reasons we serve was to defend that right, the right of peaceful protest.” The demonstration was joined by a number of players across the NFL before the league instituted a rule change that effectively banned the protest last year. Trump has often said NFL players should be forced to stand for the anthem that Continue reading "Buttigieg Hits Trump for Attacks on NFL Player Protests: Maybe He’d Respect the Right to Protest if He Served in Military"

So. Moby has a new book out in which he claims he had dated Natalie Portman. Portman responded in an interview and said he seriously mischaracterized their interactions:
“I was surprised to hear that he characterised the very short time that I knew him as dating because my recollection is a much older man being creepy with me when I just had graduated high school,” Portman told us. “He said I was 20; I definitely wasn’t. I was a teenager. I had just turned 18. There was no fact checking from him or his publisher – it almost feels deliberate. That he used this story to sell his book was very disturbing to me. It wasn’t the case. There are many factual errors and inventions. I would have liked him or his publisher to reach out to fact check.”
Moby responded on Instagram saying he has “corroborating photo evidence” Continue reading "Moby Apologizes to Natalie Portman Over Book Claims: ‘Inconsiderate’"

Jon Meacham: Trump Trying to ‘Stoke Fear’ With ‘Treason’ Talk, Similar to McCarthy Era

Presidential historian Jon Meacham said last night President Donald Trump‘s talk of “treason” is something that the Founders feared. Trump used the word again this week to decry the Russia investigation and several top intel officials involved in the probe. MSNBC’s Ali Velshi, filling in for Lawrence O’Donnell, brought on Meacham and they both agreed Trump is clearly getting this whole thing wrong. Meacham said Trump keeps saying it “loosely” and “what Donald Trump has done this week and in many other cases is not a slip of the tongue––it’s an attempt to stoke fear, it’s an attempt to take his opponents and put them in the un-American category.” “The last time we went through a system––a moment where we put people in an un-American category was the McCarthy era. And we know how well that turned out,” he added. You can watch above, via CNN. Continue reading "Jon Meacham: Trump Trying to ‘Stoke Fear’ With ‘Treason’ Talk, Similar to McCarthy Era"

Mediaite founder and ABC News chief legal analyst Dan Abrams joined CNN’s Michael Smerconish this morning to talk about President Donald Trump giving Attorney General Bill Barr the authority to declassify documents related to the origins of the Russia probe. “You can actually connect the dots on how the investigation started,” Abrams said, “starting with Carter Page back in 2013, moving to Papadopoulos, the day that the investigation actually starts officially on July 31st, 2016. So, the problem, the fundamental question with regard to this inquiry or investigation, is what is the serious credible allegation of wrongdoing up to this point?” There are suspicions and questions, but Abrams asked, “Why do it this way? Why give the attorney general this sort of sweeping power to usurp all of the other intelligence agencies, with regard to classification, without any serious credible allegation of wrongdoing up to this point?” At Continue reading "Dan Abrams: Barr Getting ‘Sweeping Power’ Without ‘Any Serious Credible Allegation of Wrongdoing’ So Far"
