And in it, he’s reportedly anticipating that he’ll face questions about the sexual harassment allegations against him, which were reported last week by The New Yorker. On Monday night, Stephen Colbert tackled the sexual misconduct allegations against CBS CEO Les Moonves made public last week, someone he hoped wasn’t watching his monologue. Colbert literally had a spit take in reaction to Ronan Farrow being the author of the New Yorker bombshell report published about the CBS chief, who was accused by six women of sexual harassment and assault. “That’s not good!” Colbert exclaimed. “Ronan isn’t exactly known for his puff pieces about glamping.” He then showed a news clip covering the exposé, which include how his alleged victims called Moonves inappropriately touching them was a “practiced routine.” “Well, you know the old saying: How do you get in a Ronan Farrow article? Practice, practice, practice,” Colbert quipped. “I’ll have some more to say about this over there at the desk later, assuming we make it past the commercial break…”

CBS’ Board of Directors have announced that they are appointing an outside counsel to launch an investigation into Les Moonves‘ alleged sexual misconduct following a bombshell New Yorker report Friday. The network confirmed the news in a Monday statement, saying “no other action was taken on this matter at today’s board meeting.” As such, it would seem Moonves will not be suspended as the media executive continues to deal with multiple women accusing him of inappropriate behavior. The statement comes after Julie Chen, Moonves’ wife, reaffirmed support for her husband on The Talk, standing by her previous Continue reading "CBS Announces Plans for Independent Investigation Into Les Moonves Allegations"

Three days after the bombshell allegations of sexual misconduct against CBS chief Les Moonves were published by The New Yorker, his wife — Julie Chen — made her first televised comments on the matter. And she doubled down on her earlier support of the embattled executive. Addressing the controversy briefly on The Talk, Chen made clear that nothing has changed over the past few days to cause her to rethink her position. “Some of you may be aware of what’s going on in my life the past few days,” Chen said. “I issued the one and only statement I will ever make on this topic on Twitter, and I will stand by that statement today, tomorrow, forever.” Chen posted the prior statement she referenced to Twitter on Friday. In it, she stood firmly behind Moonves. “I have known my husband, Leslie Moonves, since the late ‘90s, and I Continue reading "Julie Chen Doubles Down on Support For Husband Les Moonves in Talk Return"

CBS’ Julie Chen has released a statement making it clear that she is standing by her husband Leslie Moonves in the wake of an explosive New Yorker report by Ronan Farrow detailing sexual misconduct allegations against Moonves. The report details the account of six women who come forward accusing Moonves of forcible kissing and other unwanted sexual behavior. In response to the allegations, Moonves issued the following statement, which also appeared in The New Yorker report:
“Throughout my time at CBS, we have promoted a culture of respect and opportunity for all employees, and have consistently found success elevating women to top executive positions across our company. I recognize that there were times decades ago when I may have made some women uncomfortable by making advances. Those were mistakes, and I regret them immensely. But I always understood and respected—and abided by the principle—that ‘no’ means ‘no,’ and I have Continue reading "Julie Chen Releases Statement Standing by Husband Les Moonves After New Yorker Report"

Ronan Farrow‘s bombshell new report on sexual harassment accusations against CBS CEO Les Moonves also features some serious allegations against former CBS News chairman Jeff Fager. Fager, currently the executive producer of 60 Minutes, is being accused by “nineteen current and former employees” of fostering an environment that “allowed harassment in the division.” Multiple former employees have alleged Fager “would touch employees in ways that made them uncomfortable” at company parties and once “made drunken advances” to one female producer. And then there are the allegations of allowing this workplace climate to go on:
According to several people who were told about the incident at the time, a senior producer named Vicki Gordon alleged that another senior producer, Michael Radutzky, threatened to throw furniture at her and twisted her arm behind her back, causing her to scream. (Radutzky categorically denied the allegations, saying that they were fabricated. The New Yorker’s Ronan Farrow has just published a bombshell report on CBS CEO Leslie Moonves allegedly sexually harassing six women and leading a company where sexual misconduct was allowed to fester. The alleged sexual misconduct occurred from the 1980’s to the late 2000’s and involved forcible kissing or unwanted sexual contact. Farrow reports:
Six women who had professional dealings with him told me that, between the nineteen-eighties and the late aughts, Moonves sexually harassed them. Four described forcible touching or kissing during business meetings, in what they said appeared to be a practiced routine. Two told me that Moonves physically intimidated them or threatened to derail their careers. All said that he became cold or hostile after they rejected his advances, and that they believed their careers suffered as a result. “What happened to me was a sexual assault, and then I was fired for not participating,” the actress Continue reading "Six Women Accuse CBS’ Les Moonves of Sexual Harassment in Bombshell New Report"

There is apparently a new report coming out on allegations of sexual misconduct against a high-profile media figure. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Ronan Farrow has another bombshell dropping in The New Yorker later today about Les Moonves, the CEO of CBS:
CBS declined to comment. A spokesperson for The New Yorker says “We don’t comment on pieces we haven’t published.” Sources with knowledge of the article say it delves into the broader culture at CBS and will publish later today on the magazine’s website. The allegations are said in part to involve instances of unwanted kissing and touching that occurred more than twenty years ago.
Farrow, of course, has extensively reported on numerous stories of serious allegations against high-profile figures like Harvey Weinstein. CBS has issued a statement:

CBS News anchor John Dickerson appeared on The Late Show and weighed in on various subjects surrounding the Trump presidency. Dickerson first addressed the recently-released that recorded then-candidate Donald Trump and his attorney Michael Cohen discussing the payment of silencing former Playboy model Karen McDougal about her alleged affair him the current president. “You cannot say you don’t know about something and then be on tape orchestrating the arrangement of the thing you previously said you didn’t know about,” Dickerson said. “He’s that good,” Stephen Colbert reacted. The CBS This Morning co-host called it “quite a serious deal” and that we all should still think that our president “should tell us the truth about things.” Colbert then pointed out that we now “grade” Trump’s lies “on a scale” that includes “betraying our country to a hostile foreign power,” but Dickerson added that the scale was also changed for Bill Continue reading "CBS’s John Dickerson Hits Trump: You Can’t Say You Don’t Know About Something and Be On Tape Discussing It"

A CBS interview with an ICE whistleblower was interrupted in wild fashion when two Homeland Security agents suddenly showed up at the whistleblower’s front door. In a segment which aired on CBS This Morning Thursday, CBS correspondent Jamie Yuccas was speaking with former ICE spokesman James Schwab — in what was his first television interview since his sudden resignation in March. Schwab told CBS he quit his post after Attorney General Jeff Sessions made a public claim that ICE failed to make 800 arrests as a result of Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf tipping off the community to ICE’s planned raid. Days earlier, in a carefully worded statement, Schwab told the media that “some” arrests had been lost due to the tip off. But then Sessions came out with the inflated number, and Schwab was peeved. “Completely false,” he said of the Sessions claim. Schwab added, “That made me extremely uncomfortable. While last night’s 60 Minutes interview with Stormy Daniels included numerous salacious details regarding the porn star’s alleged sexual encounter with Donald Trump, a few of the best moments were cut out of the TV version — including questions about the president’s “private parts.” Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, appeared on CBS last night with Anderson Cooper in her first televised tell-all regarding her alleged relationship with Trump. She discussed the president’s supposed interest in being spanked, him comparing her to his daughter Ivanka Trump, and even the threats Daniels claims to have received after the 2006 meeting. However, a few quality quotes were saved for CBS’ online Overtime vertical in a post-game interview between Cooper and Ann Silvio. Below are the four best snippets included exclusively in the web edition. 1. 60 Minutes Scores Biggest Ratings Since 2008 With Stormy Daniels Interview

CBS scored big with their much-hyped Stormy Daniels interview on Sunday night. The two segment piece, fronted by Anderson Cooper, propelled the venerable newsmagazine to its highest rating since 2008, according to Nielsen. The broadcast pulled down a 16.3 overnight — the show’s largest audience since President Barack and Michelle Obama sat for their first interview after the 2008 election. The number is more than double what 60 Minutes normally draws. (Last week’s broadcast posted a 7.6 rating.) As a bonus, CBS benefitted from a strong lead-in — a compelling NCAA Tournament game between two powerhouse basketball programs, Duke and Kansas. The game, won by Kansas in overtime, resulted in 60 Minutes starting approximately 35 minutes late. [featured image via screengrab] —— Follow Joe DePaolo (@joe_depaolo) on Twitter

Adult film actress Stormy Daniels alleged Donald Trump downplayed his relationship with his wife in 2006 — just after Barron Trump was born — by saying the two lived in “separate rooms.” Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, made the claim while appearing on 60 Minutes with Anderson Cooper to discuss her relationship and alleged sexual relationship with the now-president. “Melania Trump had recently given birth to a son, just a few months before. Did he mention his wife or child at all in this?” Asked Cooper. Daniels responded: “I asked. And he brushed it aside — said, ‘Oh yeah, yeah, you know, don’t worry about that. We don’t even we have separate rooms and stuff.'” During the interview, the pron star also claimed that Trump brought up his daughter Ivanka Trump because she reminded him of Daniels. “He was like, ‘Wow, you– you are special. During tonight’s 60 Minutes extravaganza, adult film actress Stormy Daniels claimed Donald Trump said she reminded him of his daughter Ivanka Trump after spanking him with a magazine — a remark she says was made just before their alleged sexual experience. Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, told the story while discussing her alleged 2006 affair with the now-president. After anchor Anderson Cooper asked Daniels about their “conversation” that transpired in a hotel room, the porn star said he began by bragging about himself, but changed after she jokingly threatened to “spank” him with a magazine. Daniels told Cooper the following while on CBS:
“It started off — all about him just talking about himself. And he’s like, ‘Have you seen my new magazine?’ … And so I was like, ‘Does this — does this normally work for you?’ And he looked very taken — taken back… Continue reading "Stormy Daniels Reveals Details of Trump Affair: He Said I Reminded Him Of Daughter Ivanka After Spanking"

After months of piping hot anticipation, titillating promos, and flashes of what to expect from of a TV-happy lawyer, the wait is finally over: Stormy Daniels’ 60 Minutes interview is set to air tonight. The episode, which was recorded earlier this month, will air despite Trump and his lawyer Michael Cohen’s efforts to thwart it with a restraining order. It’s all set to go down at 7 p.m. EST on Sunday on CBS stations nationwide. Las Vegas shooting survivor Toby Clark, who is the owner of “many” firearms, still doesn’t support any kind of legislation that would ban semiautomatic rifles such as AR-15s. Clark, who appeared on a CBS News segment discussing gun control with gun violence victims, told reporter Bianna Golodryga that his views against changing current firearm laws has not shifted after surviving the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history:
“I’m open to ideas to fix the problems that we have. I mean nobody’s perfect — we all make mistakes. But when, you know, people just want to ban something just because someone did something wrong with it — I mean, that’s not helping the issue at all.”
The Las Vegas victim isn’t the only mass shooting survivor to espouse support for firearms, as a student who experienced the Parkland, Florida attack said the incident would’ve gone differently if a Continue reading "Vegas Shooting Survivor Still Supports Civilian Use of Assault Weapons: Gun ‘Ban’ Not Helpful"

Watch Rex Tillerson’s Hilarious Dodge When Asked If He Called Trump a ‘Moron’: ‘That’s a Really Old Question’

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson gave a rare interview to 60 Minutes last night, and was asked about reports he called President Donald Trump a “fucking moron” over the summer. Tillerson’s contentious relationship with the boss has long been documented in the press, with a steady stream of reports coming out throughout the summer and fall of 2017 that hobbled relations between the two. One of the most stunning was a report that Tillerson threatened to resign from his post in July, and that he called Trump a “fucking moron” during a meeting with administration officials at the Pentagon. In response, Tillerson held a press conference in October, but, in a jaw-dropping turn of events, did not deny he Continue reading "Watch Rex Tillerson’s Hilarious Dodge When Asked If He Called Trump a ‘Moron’: ‘That’s a Really Old Question’"
