Democratic presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg appeared on NBC’s Tonight Show to “slow jam” the news about his campaign and get “booty jiggy” with host Jimmy Fallon. “Though I’m running this race to beat President Trump, I’m not going to spend all my time talking about President Trump. I want to talk about you and the needs of everyday Americans,” Buttigieg explained. “Pete Buttigieg wants to satisfy all your needs,” Fallon intoned in response. When the South Bend, Indiana mayor discussed how his upcoming campaign bus tour will tour the nation. Fallon took a dramatic pause. “Wait a second. You’re saying the Buttigieg bus is stopping all around the country? Then I guess that means…” at which point the house band broke in “…booty booty booty booty rocking everywhere booty booty boot booty rocking everywhere!” After a beat, the straight-laced Buttigieg offered a droll, deadpan response: “Rocking everywhere.” Continue reading "WATCH: Mayor Pete Buttigieg Slow Jams the News With Jimmy Fallon"

Emma Thompson is hosting Saturday Night Live tonight, and she joined Jimmy Fallon last night to chat about it. But they also had some fun over a joke in Thompson’s upcoming movie Late Night. In the film, written by Mindy Kaling, Thompson plays a late night talk show host trying to save her show. Fallon showed a clip from the movie of Amy Ryan‘s character telling Thompson’s character her ratings suck and that while she was speaking to Doris Kearns Goodwin, Fallon was washing a sheepdog with Robert Downey Jr. and “it was fucking glorious.” So Fallon invited Thompson to wash a sheepdog. And Thompson confirmed that it was indeed “fucking glorious.” You can watch above, via NBC. [image via screengrab]

The announcement on Thursday that Joe Biden is running for the 2020 Democratic nomination for President was the day’s biggest story, and that carried into late night, with host of The Tonight Show Jimmy Fallon doing an extended bit about the former VP. Fallon started by showing a clip from the Biden announcement video, and with a still from the clip on screen, he said “is he running for president or trying to sell me a reverse mortgage?” He then went through the merchandise already for sale on the campaign website. “There’s Joe Biden mugs. There’s Biden pins, Biden tote bags and of course, Biden massagers.” He did some jokes about a campaign stop at a pizza place where Biden got distracted while talking to reporters, and then went on to campaign slogans. “Well, I saw that Biden’s official slogan is ‘Our best days still lie ahead.’

As she was discussing her new projects on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Chelsea Handler said “it feels good to be awake” on how her success has been partly due to her being white. “You do it but you do it in a funny way. It’s a very well done book. Life Will Be The Death Of Me is the book. I also want to mention the Netflix documentary. I love the way you make these turns,” host Jimmy Fallon said. “You’re like, I’m just going to do a documentary whenever on a subject I feel like doing with Netflix and release it. Something that’s a little uncomfortable. You have a new one coming out in September.” “September. I did one on white privilege, my own. Because after I had this reassessment, and I just thought, okay, what kind of stuff am I putting out in the Continue reading "Chelsea Handler: ‘I Thought I Was Successful Because I Was Talented,’ But I Also Have White Privilege"

The Meet The Press host’s facial expression and sigh signaled he didn’t exactly agree with Fallon, but the comedian doubled down. “He was in show business,” Fallon continued.  “He knows what he’s doing.” “Yes. In that sense, yes. It is show business” Todd agreed. “What I would say it is, it’s WWE. He’s Rowdy Roddy Piper and I’m Mean Gene Continue reading "NBC’s Chuck Todd Admits The Media Always Gets ‘Ginned Up’ By Trump"

Marjory Stoneman Douglas students got a big surprise at their high school graduation: Comedian Jimmy Fallon. Fallon made an unexpected appearance at the Sunday ceremony, taking the stage for a congratulatory speech punctuated with jokes and sentimental remarks, honoring the new class of graduates. “Today you’re graduating from high school,” he told the students. “You should feel incredibly proud of yourselves. That doesn’t mean you should rest on your laurels. Or your Yannys. Some of you will grow up to hear ‘Laurel,’ some of you will grow up to hear ‘Yanny,’ but the most important thing to remember is that neither of these things will matter by the end of the summer. Here’s what will matter: You, the class of 2018, will have graduated, and you won’t be classmates anymore. You’ll be adults who Facebook search each other at 2 in the morning for the next ten years.”

During his big post-Super Bowl show in Minneapolis last night, Jimmy Fallon took the stage as Bob Dylan for an updated version of “The Times They Are A-Changin’.” And while it doesn’t directly mention President Trump, the normally-not-overtly-political Fallon was clearly taking jabs at the Commander-in-Chief. Lyrics in the song include “For weak is the man who calls truth ‘fake news,'” “Come journalists, writers who report the facts/And brandish your pen to fend off his attacks,” and “Come leaders who bully like Internet trolls.” There’s even a reference to athletes taking a knee, with Fallon/Dylan singing that critics should “listen to what they are saying” and “perhaps they’d stand up if you reached out your hand.” You can watch above, via NBC.
