Kellyanne Conway railed against Congressional Democrats on Monday for their upcoming vote on whether to subpoena her for repeated Hatch Act violations. President Donald Trump has said that he will not fire Conway for her violations despite the Office of Special Counsel’s recommendations, so the House Oversight Committee will vote on Wednesday on how to proceed with her refusal to obey ethics laws forbidding her involvement with partisan political activity. When the topic came up on Fox & Friends, she started off by saying the Trump Administration doesn’t really know how the Hatch Act is defined. “It is not even clear to us here at the White House – according to the White House counsel – that the Hatch Act applies to assistants to the president,” Conway said. “It’s not even clear what the Hatch Act allows.” For the record, the text of the law states that federal Continue reading "Kellyanne Conway: ‘Not Even Clear What the Hatch Act’ Says… But ‘I Haven’t Violated It’"

According to a new profile, Fox News host Jeanine Pirro used her show to attack then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions after he reportedly blocked President Donald Trump from hiring her. The item is one of several pieces of information offered about the Fox host and staunch Trump ally in a new Washington Post profile series detailing Trump’s associates and confidantes.
“For a while, Trump considered Pirro for a Washington job, interviewing her for a top Justice Department position under Jeff Sessions — a job she lobbied hard to get, according to a senior administration official. But Sessions blocked the appointment, the official said, after which Pirro attacked Sessions on her show for recusing himself from the Russia investigation,” The Washington Post reported.
The article also outlines Pirro’s past as district attorney for Westchester County in New York and her attempted bid in politics. The article also describes that talk about giving Continue reading "Jeanine Pirro Attacked Jeff Sessions on Her Fox News Show After He Blocked Trump From Hiring Her: Washington Post"

Trump White House Says OSC Is Violating Kellyanne Conway's 'Free Speech' By Calling for Firing House Democrats will vote to subpoena President Donald Trump aide Kellyanne Conway over repeated violations of federal ethics laws. The House Oversight Committee, chaired by Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings, will vote on Wednesday to authorize a subpoena “for testimony in connection with Ms. Conway’s failure to comply with the Hatch Act and ethics laws.” This month, the Office of Special Counsel recommended the firing of Conway over repeated violations of the Hatch Act, a law that prohibits partisan political activity by federal employees. “Like with other presidential appointees, the President has the authority to discipline Ms. Conway for violating the Hatch Act. Given that Ms. Conway is a repeat offender and has shown disregard for the law, OSC recommends that she be removed from federal service,” the OSC report read. Trump has said he doesn’t intend to fire Conway or discipline her in any way. “I think she’s a Continue reading "BREAKING: Democrats to Vote to Subpoena Kellyanne Conway Over Repeated Violations of Federal Law"

Sen. Joni Ernst’s (R-IA) spokesperson said the lawmaker misspoke when she claimed White House counselor Kellyanne Conway is being “removed” from her post in the administration soon. While Ernst made the comments during an interview with NBC’s local Des Moines affiliate WHO-TV Sunday, the network included an editor’s note along with their coverage of Ernst’s comments noting her staff’s rebuttal. “Afterwards, Ernst’s spokesman said that she misspoke when she said Kellyanne Conway was leaving her position as counselor to President Donald Trump,” the network noted. During her comments on WHO, Ernst was asked if it is “right” that Conway is using her position to violate the Hatch Act, as documented by federal watchdogs at the U.S. Office of Special Counsel. “Well, obviously, there has been a commission that’s decided that’s not appropriate so she is being removed from that position but we certainly want to be working toward Continue reading "Joni Ernst Spokesperson Claims Senator Misspoke When She Said Kellyanne Conway Was Being ‘Removed’"

Trump Defends Kellyanne Conway’s Hatch Act Violations: ‘No I’m Not Going to Fire Her’

President Donald Trump defended Kellyanne Conway on Friday from the Office of Special Counsel (OSC) and their recommendation that she should be fired from the White House for repeatedly violating the Hatch Act. The OSC designated Conway as a repeat offender on Thursday for “disparaging Democratic presidential candidates while speaking in her official capacity,” and they also determined that she “has shown disregard for the law” for shrugging off her violations. The White House responded by calling it a violation of Conway’s right to free speech, and Trump made the same argument during an extensive interview on Fox & Friends. “It’s just not fair,” Trump said. “They asked a question – I think one of them was involved with your show – You ask a person a question and every time you are supposed to say ‘I can’t answer, I can’t answer?’ She has to have the right of Continue reading "Trump Defends Kellyanne Conway’s Hatch Act Violations: ‘No I’m Not Going to Fire Her’"

Fox’s Baier Confronts Julian Castro on Hatch Act: Obama ‘Gave You a Pass,’ Shouldn’t Kellyanne Conway Get One?

Kellyanne Conway was deemed, by the Office of Special Counsel on Thursday, to have committed repeated multiple violations of the Hatch Act — a law which prohibits Federal employees from engaging in partisan political activity. Three years ago, 2020 presidential contender Julian Castro — then working as HUD secretary in President Barack Obama‘s administration — was found to have violated the same act. Bret Baier of Fox News wanted to know: What is the difference? The Special Report anchor posed the question to Castro at a Fox News town hall on Thursday night. “Today, a federal watchdog agency recommended that White House counselor Kellyanne Conway be fired for violating the Hatch Act,” Baier said. “Essentially campaigning while in federal office. When you were HUD secretary, the same agency accused you of the same thing. President Obama gave you a pass. Should President [Donald] Trump give Kellyanne Conway Continue reading "Fox’s Baier Confronts Julian Castro on Hatch Act: Obama ‘Gave You a Pass,’ Shouldn’t Kellyanne Conway Get One?"

Two Obama Officials Violated Same Law as Kellyanne Conway. Here’s the Difference.

Now that the Office of Special Counsel (OSC) is calling for Trump White House counselor Kellyanne Conway’s firing over violations of the Hatch Act, comparisons will surely be made to the two Obama administration officials who were found to have violated the same act. Here are the key differences. On Thursday, the OSC released a report that found Conway repeatedly violated the Hatch Act, which prohibits certain partisan political activities by federal employees, and which called for her removal from federal service. During President Barack Obama’s administration, OSC similarly found two executive branch officials guilty of Hatch Act violations, one of whom is currently a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination. Then-HUD Secretary Julian Castro was found to have violated the act in 2016 when, during an April interview with Yahoo News’ Katie Couric, Castro mixed politics with his official duties by pontificating on the 2016 presidential election after Continue reading "Two Obama Officials Violated Same Law as Kellyanne Conway. Trump White House Says OSC Is Violating Kellyanne Conway’s ‘Free Speech’ By Calling for Firing

President Donald Trump‘s White House press shop was quick to respond to the news that the Office of Special Counsel has called for Kellyanne Conway‘s firing for repeated violations of federal law by stating that their findings “violate her constitutional rights to free speech and due process.” On Thursday afternoon, the OSC released a report finding that Conway repeatedly violated the Hatch Act, and recommending she be removed from federal service. Immediately following that report, White House Deputy Press Secretary Steven Groves released a statement condemning the ruling. “The Office of Special Counsel’s (OSC) unprecedented actions against Kellyanne Conway are deeply flawed and violate her constitutional rights to free speech and due process,” the statement read. “Others, of all political views, have objected to the OSC’s unclear and unevenly applied rules which have a chilling effect on free speech for all federal employees. Its decisions seem Continue reading "Trump White House Says OSC Is Violating Kellyanne Conway’s ‘Free Speech’ By Calling for Firing"

Kellyanne Conway Battles MSNBC’s Welker While Spinning Trump’s Poor Polls: ‘Best Numbers We’ve Ever Had!’

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and NBC reporter Kristen Welker heated up on Wednesday when their conversation turned toward President Donald Trump’s apparent preoccupation with 2020 election polling data. The two covered a number of topics in their broad-range interview, but things started to bubble up when Welker brought up new Quinnipiac poll numbers showing multiple Democratic 2020 nominees ahead of Trump. Conway shrugged off those numbers by saying the data was “so backwards” for the 2016 election, and she argued that Trump’s record puts him on solid ground for re-election. Welker noted that Trump went on a Twitter tear against “fake polling” earlier today, also touching on reports that Trump is telling aides to lie about his internal polling. “We have folks who are familiar with these internal polls that he’s citing who say ‘that’s just not the case,’ that there is concern about internal polling,” Continue reading "Kellyanne Conway Battles MSNBC’s Welker While Spinning Trump’s Poor Polls: ‘Best Numbers We’ve Ever Had!’"

NBC’s Welker Grills Kellyanne Conway: Does Trump Think Impeachment is Likely?

Kellyanne Conway was pressed on Wednesday when asked if the White House is expecting impeachment as President Donald Trump’s administration continues to resist congressional subpoenas. In an interview with Kristen Welker for MSNBC, Conway defended the Trump Administration’s withholding of privileged documents while claiming that Robert Mueller found “no collusion in his investigative report. She also panned the special counsel for his comments on exoneration and blasted the idea of further investigations on Trump in the name of congressional oversight. Welker focused her questions on whether Conway was confirming that the White House will speak to the Justice Department about which documents they’ll withhold under executive privilege.” When Conway refused to confirm, Welker drilled further by asking “the White House will intervene if they feel some of those documents are protected by privilege, correct?” “Certainly, if they do,” Conway answered before knocking the investigation again and saying the Continue reading "NBC’s Welker Grills Kellyanne Conway: Does Trump Think Impeachment is Likely?"

Kellyanne Conway Attacks: Unlike John Dean, I Don’t Plan on Going to Jail For Obstruction of Justice

Kellyanne Conway is on the warpath — going on the attack against former Nixon White House counsel John Dean ahead of his Congressional testimony. During a segment on Fox & Friends Monday, Brian Kilmeade opened the door for Conway to go off on Dean by snarking about his testimony after Conway blasted Congressional Democrats for not allowing the White House a briefing room at Capitol Hill for an update on opioid legislation. “They’re using it for John Dean’s makeup room,” Kilmeade said — sarcastically explaining why the House can’t spare space for an opioid briefing. That was all Conway needed to go off on a Dean rant — during which she, unprompted, brought up the idea of being sent to jail for obstruction. (Dean served four months in a Federal safe house in 1974 for obstruction of justice relating to Watergate.) “It’s really something,” Conway said. “I’ve never been Continue reading "Kellyanne Conway Attacks: Unlike John Dean, I Don’t Plan on Going to Jail For Obstruction of Justice"

George Conway Unleashes on Trump in Twitter Thread George Conway, the husband of White House aide Kellyanne Conway, went of on President Donald Trump in a series of stunning tweets Sunday morning deeming the president “mentally unwell” and calling on him to resign from office. Conway, a frequent and harsh Trump critic, responded to a tweet in which the president defended his attacks on the media. “You’re not ‘presidential’ at all, period. You’re mentally unwell,” Conway wrote. “You engage in bizarre, irrational, self-defeating behavior, which prompts criticism of you, which triggers more bizarre, irrational, self-defeating behavior. You would have been fired from any other job by now.” Continue reading "‘You’re Mentally Unwell’: George Conway Calls on Trump to ‘Resign and Seek Psychological Treatment’"

Trump Fumes That Kellyanne Conway Kept Him in the Dark About Woodward Book in New Interview

A new interview with Donald Trump includes a moment where the president scolded Kellyanne Conway for not telling him Bob Woodward wanted to speak with him when he wrote Fear: Trump in the White House. In a conversation with Yahoo’s Alexander Nazaryan, Trump gushed over numerous members of his cabinet while acknowledging there have been “some clinkers” in his administration. Nazaryan reports that Conway sat in for this interview, and she remained present when the conversation shifted and Trump turned his ire towards negative books written about his presidency. After calling Michael Wolff “a dopey guy,” and apparently mixing up Fire and Fury with William Faulkner‘s The Sound and the Fury, Trump started bashing Conway for not telling him Woodward wanted an interview as the Washington Post associate editor drafted his own book. Here’s how Nazaryan described the moment:
“Kellyanne didn’t tell me he asked 10 times Continue reading "Trump Fumes That Kellyanne Conway Kept Him in the Dark About Woodward Book in New Interview"

WATCH: Kellyanne Conway Melts Down When Busted for Lying About Violating Hatch Act, Lies Some More

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway repeatedly lashed out when reporters called her out for claiming she had never violated the Hatch Act, and at one point even told them a demonstrable lie that she urged them to go back and check against “the full quotes.” We did that. During a gaggle on the White House driveway Wednesday, Conway spent the better part of her remarks attacking former Vice President Joe Biden, which prompted Associated Press White House correspondent Zeke Miller to ask Conway about her Hatch Act violations. Miller asked if she intended to continue commenting on the 2020 election despite those past violations. “You’ve been found to have violated the Hatch Act,” Miller said, but Conway cut him off. “No I haven’t been found to, that’s an outside group,” Conway insisted. “No no, you have to get your facts straight, Zeke, because you often don’t, respectfully.” Continue reading "WATCH: Kellyanne Conway Melts Down When Busted for Lying About Violating Hatch Act, Lies Some More"

Kellyanne Conway wailed on James Comey Wednesday in response to his new op-ed about President Donald Trump and the “dumb lies” his administration has used to smear the FBI. In a column for Washington Post, Comey called Trump a liar and defended his former bureau’s work in investigating the president’s campaign for connections with Russia. When asked about this on Fox & Friends, Conway replied: “methinks he doth protest too much, sounds like there’s panic in the world of Jim Comey.” “Who cares what he thinks?” Conway continued. “No collusion. I stood here many times and said that as campaign manager, no collusion, and yet we’re supposed to read Jim Comey in a friendly, favorable news outlet saying no corruption, so let’s find out.” As Conway kept on slamming Comey and his colleagues, she eventually turned to bash media outlets for reporting that Comey briefed Continue reading "Kellyanne Conway Mocks Jim Comey’s ‘Panic’ Op-Ed: ‘Methinks He Doth Protest Too Much’"

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway spent much of her day, Thursday, blasting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying, “she treats me like I’m her either her maid, or her driver, or her pilot, or her makeup artist and I’m not.” Hours later, Conway’s husband, George Conway, is lauding Nancy Pelosi. In a series of tweets Friday morning, Mr. Conway praised the House Speaker for her handling of the subject of potential impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump. “The reason why Trump loves to talk about impeachment, and why he blathers on about it more than most Dems, including Pelosi and all his 2020 opponents combined, is that it concerns what matters to him most, more than his job, and more than the country — himself,” George Conway wrote.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway is still angry with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for snubbing a conversation with her after President Donald Trump ditched a legislative meeting yesterday, telling Fox News today that Pelosi “treats me like her maid.” During a meeting between Democratic legislative leaders and Trump outside the Oval Office yesterday, the president abruptly left in response to Pelosi holding held a previous meeting that day in which she accused Trump of being “engaged in a cover-up” in regards to the Russia probe. “[Trump] never raised his voice and said, ‘You can’t have two tracks — you can’t say that I’m engaged in a cover-up, you can’t want to impeach and investigate and pretend you want to legislate,'” Conway claimed to Fox News regarding Trump’s exit. “And so then Speaker Pelosi — nobody’s reported this yet so I’ll give you some color — then Speaker Pelosi Continue reading "Multi-Millionaire Kellyanne Conway Goes After Fellow Multi-Millionaire Nancy Pelosi: Treats Me Like I’m Her Maid"

Kellyanne Conway Rants About Congress Ahead of AG Testimony: ‘The Harassment of Bill Barr’ is ‘Disgraceful’

The nation’s top cop is being subjected to harassment, according to a key White House figure. Appearing on America’s Newsroom Tuesday, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway ranted about the treatment — or, in her judgment, the mistreatment — of Attorney General William Barr on the part of Congress. Barr is slated to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday and possibly the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday — although he and House committee chair Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) have bickered over some of the details, and Barr has threatened to skip the hearing. As far as Kellyanne Conway is concerned, Barr has every right to bail on the House session. “We’ll leave that to him,” she said — when asked if Barr plans to appear before the House. “He’s certainly testifying to the Senate, so it’s not like he’s afraid to answer questions under oath. “But the harassment Continue reading "Kellyanne Conway Rants About Congress Ahead of AG Testimony: ‘The Harassment of Bill Barr’ is ‘Disgraceful’"

Kellyanne Conway showed off her CNN souvenir during a street interview with TMZ about the Jussie Smollett case on Sunday. “Look, they gave me a souvenir,” Conway told the TMZ reporter outside CNN. Declining to ask her more about her mug, the reporter instead asked Conway about President Donald Trump calling Jussie Smollett a “third-rate actor” during Saturday’s rally. Conway said that Trump was simply reflecting what “embattled prosecutor Kim Foxx said.” She then said Trump joined a lot of Chicagoans who are “outraged” over how the Smollett case was handled. “Don’t forget the way this all started,” she continued on. “The big lie was that there was something called MAGA country…[Smollett] tried to stage a hate crime using Trump supporters.” “Trump supporters should be upset about Continue reading "Kellyanne Conway Says Trump Supporters ‘Should Be Upset’ Over Jussie Smollett Case"
